Last Friday night we held our district’s annual banquet. During the program we talked a lot about the successes of the past year of our units and the district. We also had the chance to recognize two of our passionate and hard-working volunteers. The District Award of Merit is the most distinguished recognition given at the district level; this year’s recipients are Cindy Miller and Rick Cavallari. Cindy currently serves as a the district’s Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner and the Training Chairman, in addition to being a Tiger Den Leader for Pack 72 in New Smyrna Beach. Rick serves on the Cub Scout training team and Cub Scout roundtable staff, and is a leader with Troop 65 in Daytona Beach. Please congratulate Cindy and Rick next time you see them!
As the Scouting program year comes to a close, please encourage all of your leaders to fill out the progress record for adult leader knots. These are very important recognitions that every single leader needs to receive, and our council pays for the patch and certificate! You can find the forms online at: http://www.scouting.org/Media/forms.aspx. Please include a presentation to the recipients at your next meeting. This also includes the Scouting Veterans pins.
